Dining is one of the best parts of a Disney Cruise, and the Disney Wonder has a wonderful lineup of options. Here is a full breakdown of where you will eat, what is included, and what the one paid upgrade is worth.
Rotational dining: your three main restaurants
Every guest is assigned three main dining restaurants for the length of the cruise, and you rotate through all three on different nights. The best part is your serving team rotates with you, so the same waitstaff gets to know your preferences, your kids' favorite drinks, and any allergies, night after night.
On the Wonder, your rotational restaurants are Animator's Palate, Tiana's Place, and Triton's.
Animator's Palate is playful and interactive, with animation inspired theming that transforms throughout dinner. Kids especially love watching their own drawings come to life on the screens by the end of the meal.
Tiana's Place brings New Orleans to the ship, with a live jazz band, a supper club atmosphere, and food inspired by The Princess and the Frog. It is lively and fun, and a favorite among many of my clients.
Triton's has an elegant, under the sea theme inspired by The Little Mermaid, with French inspired dishes and a quieter, more traditional dining room feel. It is a nice contrast to the energy of the other two.
All three restaurants are included in your cruise fare, no extra cost.
The specialty restaurant: Palo
If you are looking for a more elevated dinner and want a night without the kids, Palo is the ship's adults-only specialty restaurant, and it comes with an additional fee. The Wonder is one of the few ships in the fleet with just one specialty restaurant instead of two, but Palo more than makes up for it with Italian inspired cuisine and a lovely, romantic atmosphere. It is a wonderful choice for an anniversary or simply a nicer night out during your cruise.
Palo books up quickly, so I recommend reserving as early as your booking window allows. This is something I always help my clients lock in ahead of time.
Cabanas: the buffet
Cabanas is the ship's buffet and it is open for breakfast and lunch, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It offers a wide variety of options, which makes it especially convenient with picky eaters or a group that wants different things.
Quick service and pool deck options
For a more casual bite throughout the day, there are several quick service spots onboard. Pinocchio's Pizzeria serves pizza near Goofy's Pool, Eye Scream offers soft serve, and Daisy's De-Lites has lighter snack options like salads, wraps, and fruit.
One small detail I always tell my clients about: the chicken strips served poolside. They are a simple thing, but they are genuinely great, and they are one of those little details that make lounging by the pool with kids so much easier. No need to leave your spot in the sun to feed everyone a real meal.
A tip I give almost every client: try a sit-down lunch
Triton's is the Wonder's designated restaurant for a sit-down, table service breakfast and lunch on days it is offered. You do not need to book this ahead of time, just show up and they will seat you. It gives you a chance to slow down in the middle of your cruise, sit somewhere air conditioned, and actually relax over a real meal instead of grabbing something quick. It feels like a small luxury in the middle of an already wonderful trip, and it is included in your fare.
Room service
Room service is included with your cruise fare and available any time of day. It is a great option for a late night snack or a lazy breakfast on your verandah.
One of our favorite family traditions happens at the end of the night. We order warm chocolate chip cookies and milk, or sometimes Mickey ice cream bars, and pile onto the bed together to enjoy our snack and talk through everything we did that day. It has become one of our favorite parts of every cruise, and it costs nothing extra.
Putting it all together
Between rotational dining, Palo, the buffet, and all the quick service spots, you genuinely will not go hungry on the Wonder. My best advice is to book Palo early, take advantage of a sit-down breakfast or lunch at Triton's, and do not skip the poolside chicken strips.
